Audiology Clinic
High Plains Regional
Education Cooperative has a state of the art Audiology Center designed
to provide quality audiology services to local schools and communities.
The hearing test site is located within the High Plains Regional
Education Cooperative office at 101 North 2nd Street, on the northeast
corner of Park Avenue and 2nd Street. Testing is available to any person
in the community, regardless of age. All testing will be performed by
Ernest E. Haecker, Audiologist, M.S., CCC-A, who is professionally
certified and state licensed in New Mexico.
The Audiology Center also
includes the sales and service of hearing aids. Amplifications can be
dispensed to any person, where this assistance is appropriate, at a
considerable cost savings from commercial hearing aid sales.
A full comprehensive
audiological assessment is routinely administered once a referral is
received from the school district or primary care physician. Tests
crucial to the diagnosis of central auditory processes are also
administered (i.e. dichotic listening, background noise, signal
extraction, and rate assessments).
The Audiology Center
has full Medicaid billing eligibility status which means reimbursement
for students or community patients is readily available, as well as
private insurance billing.
