HPREC strives to provide regional school district personnel with current, meaningful, and high quality professional development. Training opportunities are designed in response to an annual needs assessment, direction from the districts, and in cooperation with the New Mexico Public Education Department.
HPREC embraces a partnership approach with member districts in the identification and design of professional development. Following trainings, participants are more confidently prepared to integrate new knowledge, skills, and content into their practice.
HPREC facilitators possess a deep understanding of professional development topics and are reflective in their delivery. They develop sessions to include these components:
- Current and meaningful content
- Powerful delivery
- Collaborative culture
- Scaffolding of attendee levels
- Clear and well-developed training materials
- Technology rich
- Capacity building
HPREC also extends professional development opportunities to educators around the state of New Mexico and nation-wide. These include DIBELS Next™, early literacy, and Response to Intervention, as well as special education law. Participants can register for HPREC trainings by selecting Upcoming Trainings.
