Important Dates

PDD/OPAL Submission Deadline

The PDD/OPAL submission period begins on July 15, 2023, at 12:01 a.m. and will remain open until 11:59 p.m. on March 29, 2024. The window for resubmissions will open on April 1, 2024, at 12:01 a.m. and will remain open until 11:59 p.m. on May 15, 2024.

Submissions received by October 13, 2023, that successfully pass will receive a start date of July 1, 2023.

Please note school year 2023–2024 is the last year the PDD option will be available.

The PDD window submission will be open July 15, 2023, and remain open until March 29, 2024. The window for PDD resubmissions will open April 1, 2024, at 12:01 am, and will remain open until 11:59 pm, May 15, 2024.

***Submissions only meet the submission window deadline if they have received administrative approval by the above dates.*** Waiting until the final deadline is highly discouraged and will result in longer wait times for results.

Training

Region 9 AND NMPED Virtual Training Dossier Preparation and Coaching

NMPED and REC9 are working together to assist teachers as they prepare their PDD and OPAL submissions. Please view our newly released training videos to receive insight into the requirements and process to completing your submission. After viewing the training materials, coaching assistance is offered via office hours up to six times a week where an applicant may pose questions or receive guidance in any area they may need additional guidance.

HPREC Contact

The contact for dossier support is Pamela Hunnicutt, who has over 30 years of experience in education, including time spent as a classroom teacher, reading specialist, and elementary principal. She also has a strong background in adult learning.

Coaching

Ms. Hunnicutt is available for virtual coaching of teachers in the dossier submission process. Coaching will provide instruction on how to get started on a dossier and can last throughout the dossier design and submission process. Each strand development will be supported with helpful tips and ongoing discussion about the completeness and thoroughness.
