Positive Behavior Intervention Support (PBIS)
HPREC staff is available to assist site-based teams in the ongoing development, implementation, and evaluation of Positive Behavior Intervention Support (PBIS), a system-level approach to promote academic achievement and healthy social development of children and youth.
PBIS develops school-wide systems that are designed to:
- Reduce major disciplinary infractions
- Improve academic achievement
- Enhance the perception of school health & safety
- Develop and support safe school environments conducive to learning
- Reducing bullying
HPREC will facilitate the process to build district expertise and capacity in:
- PBIS Leadership
- Critical components of PBIS
- Strategic action planning
- Training of trainers
- Development of bully prevention initiatives and practices
Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI)
HPREC staff is available to provide regional-wide, district-wide, and/or site-based professional development on Crisis Prevention Intervention as well as assist in the development of safety teams in your school to respond effectively to crisis. CPI is considered the worldwide standard for crisis prevention and intervention training and can help your school:
- Reduce the risk of injury
- Comply with legislative mandates
- Meet regulatory/accreditation standards
- Improve staff retention
- Minimize exposure to liability
- Promote the philosophy of Care, Welfare, Safety, and Security
